WHY IT MATTERS
Climate change is the long-term shift in Earthâs weather patterns caused by rising greenhouse gases. Global warming is the planetâs increasing average temperature, driven mainly by burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial pollution. Together they fuel extreme storms, droughts, wildfires, and sea-level rise that threaten food, water, and health worldwide.
We each have powerâand responsibilityâto slow this crisis. Daily choices, multiplied by millions, cut emissions and build pressure for systemic change. Equally important is holding leaders accountable and electing officials who respect the will of the people by advancing clean energy, environmental justice, and climate protections.
Take action every day:
⢠At home: Switch to LED bulbs, unplug devices, choose renewable energy, eat more plant-based meals, conserve water, compost, and recycle.
⢠On the move: Walk, bike, carpool, or use public transit instead of driving alone.
⢠In your community: Vote for climate-focused leaders, demand bold policies, sign petitions, join local efforts, and talk to friends and neighbors.
Every action matters. By combining personal habits with civic engagement, we can shrink our carbon footprint, hold power accountable, and secure a livable planet for future generations.
